I sometimes browse the #gemini mailing list through the web interface's access to archives. These classy messages make me happy I don't participate:
@jeff i liked gemini when it was small but now it's getting too big and technical and feels more and more like http. then i can stick with http and html 3.2 because that's supported by many older computers and bowsers without problems
@zwangseinweisung I tend to agree. #gemini is pretty terrible on older machines because of its TLS requirements that effectively means you need a quite modern SSL library, which, even ignoring older machines’ computational power, is often just not available.
For example, what’s the latest OpenSSL available for #atari FreeMiNT machines? It’s pretty far behind already.
